Telecommunications equipment imported into Africa have to be certified. Most of the countries accept test reports under use of EU or/and FCC standards. National deviations exist and have to determine in detail. Certification has to prepare by local authorities, often referred to as a complicated, costly and time-consuming process.
More regulated procedures exists at the South Africa Authority ICASA.
